[What is elderberry extract?]

Elderberry extract comes from the fruit of the Sambucus nigra or Black Elder, a species found in Europe, Western Asia, North Africa, and North America. Called “the medicine chest of the common people,” Elder flowers, berries, leaves, bark, and roots have all been used for centuries in traditional folk medicines.Elder fruit contains vitamins A, B and C, flavonoids, tannins, carotenoids, and amino acids. Elderberry is believed to possess therapeutic uses as an anti-inflammatory, diuretic, and immuno-stimulant.

1. As medicine raw material: It can promote the healing of gastrointestinal ulcers; It can be used for acute and chronic hepatitis and hepatitis evocable hepatomegaly, hepatocirrhosis; promote the healing of liver function.

2. As foodstuff colorant: Widely used in cakes, beverage, candy, ice cream etc..

Notes:
Cell – the smallest unit of life. It takes up useful molecules and gets rid of waste molecules. It breaks down larger molecules to produce usable energy in the form of ATP molecules, where energy was stored, to synthesize other larger molecules. Big molecules are CONSTANTLY being breaking down into small molecules and the pieces used to make big molecules again, a process called ‘turnover’.

Selectin – any of a family of sugar-binding lectins that are found on the surface of cells (as endothelial cells and white blood cells) and that promote their adhesion to other cells and mediate their migration to sites of inflammation.

Chemokine – any of a group of chemotactic cytokines that are produced by various cells (as at sites of inflammation), that are thought to provide directional cues for the movement of white blood cells (as T cells, monocytes, and neutrophils), and that include some playing a role in HIV infection because the cell surface receptors to which they bind are also used by specific strains of HIV for entry into cells.

Mitochondria – an organelle which break down nutrients such as glucose and provide the cell with energy to perform its function.

Membrane – defines the boundary of the cell and consists of a double layer of fatlike lipid molecules. Embedded in the membrane are a variety of protein molecules that have special functions.

Microtubule – a long strand of bundles of protein filaments arranged around a hollow core; part of the cytoskeleton and involved in transporting substances from place to place within a cell.

G-protein – a protein coupled to a metabotropic receptor. When a molecule of the neurotransmitter binds with the receptor, the receptor activates a G protein situated inside the membrane next to the receptor.

Hi! Here are my best tips for achieving a sexy epidermis. This is a video on the steps I take to achieve glowing and youthful skin! Let me know if you found this useful or aim to try any of the methods I use!

1. I use cold-pressed, nutrient dense avocado oil on my face before bed. I love it for the natural vitamin C, E and moisturizing fatty acids. It is easily absorbed by my skin and feels amazing every single time! The sterolins in avocado oil are said to be good for age spots, sun spots and there are even claims that they stimulate collagen production.
2. I often make carrot + avocado creamy masks for my skin
3. I snack on goji berries, cashews, hemp seeds and pumpkin seeds. Hemp seeds are actually almost a complete protein. I also like raw crushed garlic.
4. I also do an oil cleanse
5. I use a highlight with any white, shimmery dusting colour

Don’t give up on eating clean, and remember finding your perfect routine will take trial, error and patience, but learning what your body thrives off of the most is information you can benefit from for life! Love you guys.
