[What is elderberry extract?]

Elderberry extract comes from the fruit of the Sambucus nigra or Black Elder, a species found in Europe, Western Asia, North Africa, and North America. Called “the medicine chest of the common people,” Elder flowers, berries, leaves, bark, and roots have all been used for centuries in traditional folk medicines.Elder fruit contains vitamins A, B and C, flavonoids, tannins, carotenoids, and amino acids. Elderberry is believed to possess therapeutic uses as an anti-inflammatory, diuretic, and immuno-stimulant.

1. As medicine raw material: It can promote the healing of gastrointestinal ulcers; It can be used for acute and chronic hepatitis and hepatitis evocable hepatomegaly, hepatocirrhosis; promote the healing of liver function.

2. As foodstuff colorant: Widely used in cakes, beverage, candy, ice cream etc..

3. As chemical raw material for daily use: Widely used in many kinds of green medicine toothpastes and cosmetics.

Cannabis and Christmas, two of our favorite things. This year dear friends and family (Framily) that work at marijuana dispensaries and/or are growers in the weed legal state of Oregon got together for a Christmas feast and what a fabulous feast it was.
Budbutter or Cannabutter was cooked into everything for this Christmas Cannabis Feast. In fact, 4 pounds of nug butter was used… potency was not a problem.

THC TURKEY
We used a 12lb turkey and cooked it 4 hours at 350 degrees F. in a turkey bag. We did not cook stuffing into the bird. The cavity was filled with fruit (1 apple, 1 orange, some grapes) instead of stuffing. We seasoned budbutter and rubbed it between the meat and skin along with placing a scoop in the cavity with the fruit and rubbed more cannabutter on the outside before placing it in the bag.
The turkey was amazing and carried no marijuana taste whatsoever.

STONER STUFFING OR DANK DRESSING
Celery, onion, mushrooms, turkey liver and giblets all chopped finely, seasoned with sage, thyme, salt & pepper, and combined with 3/4 cup (1 stick) budbutter. In a side bowl whisk 2 eggs. Then pour eggs, 1 cup of chicken broth and veggie/butter mix over crisp pulled french bread. Bake 90 minutes at 350 degrees.

LUNCH LADY BROWNIES / CANNABROWNIES
Mix 1 cup of budbutter, 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, 2 cups of flour, 2 cups of sugar, 4 eggs, and 4 tsp of vanilla and blend until smooth. Use 9×13 baking dish and bake 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees.
420 FROSTING
1/4 cup of budbutter, 1/4 cup of 2% milk, 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 3 cups of powder sugar. Mix & spread over warm brownies.

CANNACORNBREAD
For this feast, we used a store bought box and substituted budbutter for butter (which you can do with ANY recipe). Cornbread requires much butter so really any cornbread recipe or box mix will do… ours was yummy. Especially with budbutter melted on top.
ACCENT & SIDE DISHES
We just steamed veggies and melted the butter into them. Mashed potatoes are an awesome candidate for budbutter or you can serve baked potatoes with cannabutter on top.
Tinctures can be used in most deserts and of course…leave a dish of nugbutter on the table to top off any of these dishes.
Make sure you have non-medicated courses for minors or those who do not want to partake, make sure no one has to drive and Dig In!!!!
