Dry Ingredients:
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup cacao powder
pinch of salt
1 teaspoon baking soda

Moist Ingredients:
1/2 cup sesame paste
1.5 cups non-dairy milk
1 cup medjool dates pitted
splash of vanilla extract (approx 1 tablespoon)
1 cup apple sauce
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup hot water

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 180C or 350F.
Put dates, sesame paste, apple sauce, non-dairy milk, vanilla extract, maple syrup and pinch of salt in food processor. Blend until smooth.
In separate bowl mix the flour, baking powder and cacao powder.
Add moist batter to the dry ingredients and mix together.
Add baking soda and lemon juice to batter and mix slowly.
Add hot water and mix slowly.
Grease baking dish with almond butter.
Add batter to dish.
Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes.
