4. Mô tả:

Cây thảo, sống lâu năm. Thân đứng cao từ 15-40 cm, có thân bò ngang trên mặt đất. Thân chia đốt và có nhánh. Đốt ở phía thân dài từ 1-2 cm, ở nhánh có thể dài tới 10 cm. Lá đơn, mọc so le, phiến lá thuôn hình ngọn giáo, 15-20 cm x 4-6 cm, bề mặt nhẵn, mặt trên xanh đậm hơn mặt dưới, mọng nước. Bẹ lá ôm khít lấy thân. Mép lá nguyên, thường có mầu vàng khi lá già. Gân lá song song. Lá thường có mầu tím ở những cây có nhiều ánh sáng. Hoa hợp thành xim, sắp xếp ở ngọn một trục dài và cong thành chùm. Cụm hoa không cuống, gồm 6-12 bông. Hoa mầu trắng, có cuống, cuống hoa dài 1 mm. Lá bắc ngoài cụm hoa hình vỏ trấu, 1 cm x 1 cm, mầu vàng. Lá bắc của hoa hình lòng thuyền, kích thước 1,5 mm x 3 mm, phần dưới trắng, phần trên xanh, mép nguyên, có lông mịn phía dưới. Tràng 3, hình trứng, kích thước khoảng 1 mm x 2,5 mm, mầu trắng, mép nguyên. Nhị 6, rời, chỉ nhị dài khoảng 1,5 mm, phần dưới dính với cánh hoa, bao phấn hình hạt đậu, kích thước khoảng 1/3 x ¼ mm, đính vào hai bên trung đới. Bầu trên, 3 ô, cao khoảng 0,5 mm, vòi nhụy hình trụ, dài khoảng 1,5 mm, núm nhụy hình chổi.
