Introduction

Marigold flower belongs to compositae family and tagetes erecta. It is an annual herb and widely planted in Heilungkiang, Jilin, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Yunnan , etc.The marigold we used comes from Yunnan province. Based on the local situation of special soil environment and lighting condition , the local marigold have characteristics like growing fast,long flowering period ,high productive capacity and adequate quality.Thus, the steady supply of raw materials, high yield and reduction of cost can be guaranteed.

Here at LB Natural Soap Co. we love love love our teas, green tea, white tea, oolong, you name it we drink it. So you can imagine how delighted we were to discover this months soap challenge club was aimed towards making soap with alternative liquids to 100% water. We thought long and hard about the best teas to use and the benefits they all bring to the table and in the end it came down to two: Match Green Tea and Himalayan Black Tea, as we couldn’t decide which were better we decided to use both.

The benefits of tea have been known for thousands of years and still form a big part of medicine in the east so we though we would share with you some of the wonderful benefits of each tea that we have chosen:

Green Tea:

Protects Skin From Sun Damage – This is in reference to green tea being used topically, and in conjunction with sunscreen. The antioxidants it contains can work from the outside in, not just the inside out, and it’s being discovered that while it doesn’t necessarily block the sun’s rays, it does mitigate the damage that is done to the skin from the sun. The free radicals that help UV rays cause damage are neutralized, and the green tea helps with inflammation as well.
