Brief Introduction

Quercetin is a plant pigment (flavonoid). It is found in many plants and foods, such as red wine, onions, green tea, apples, berries, Ginkgo biloba, St. John’s wort, American elder, and others. Buckwheat tea has a large amount of quercetin. People use quercetin as a medicine.

Quercetin is used for treating conditions of the heart and blood vessels including “hardening of the arteries” (atherosclerosis), high cholesterol, heart disease, and circulation problems. It is also used for diabetes, cataracts, hay fever, peptic ulcer, schizophrenia, inflammation, asthma, gout, viral infections, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), preventing cancer, and for treating chronic infections of the prostate. INGREDIENTS TO SERVE 1 PERSON
• 40 g oatmeal
• 160 ml water or milk (skimmed / semi-skimmed)

PREPARATION

1. Mix oatmeal and water or milk in the Tupperware Micro Porridge Maker. Microwave for 2 min. 30 sec. at 600 watts.
2. Allow to stand for 1 min. Stir using the Silicone Spatula Thin. If needed, microwave again by periods of 1 min. at 600 watts, according to your taste.

VARIATIONS
Here are ideas to brighten up your porridge after cooking:
• 100 g sliced bananas and 2 crumbled speculoos biscuits
