[Function]

Grapes (Vitis vinifera) have been heralded for their medicinal and nutritional value for thousands of years. Egyptians ate grapes a very long time back, and several ancient Greek philosophers spoke about the healing power of grapes — usually in the form of wine. European folk healers made an ointment from the sap of grapevines to treat skin and eye diseases. Grape leaves were used to stop bleeding, inflammation, and pain, such as the kind brought on by hemorrhoids. Unripe grapes were used to treat sore throats, and dried grapes (raisins) were used for constipation and thirst. Round, ripe, sweet grapes were used to treat a range of health problems including cancer, cholera, smallpox, nausea, eye infections, and skin, kidney, and liver diseases.

Grape seed extracts are industrial derivatives from whole grape seeds that have a great concentration of vitamin E, flavonoids, linoleic acid and phenolic OPCs. The typical commercial opportunity of extracting grape seed constituents has been for chemicals known as polyphenols having antioxidant activity in vitro.

Riječ je o samonikloj biljci, stručnog naziva Allium ursinum, koja raste u vlažnim listopadnim šumama, dolinama i uz potoke do 1900 metara nadmorske visine.

Poznat je i pod imenima crijemuš, sremuš, divlji luk i šumski luk.

Naziv medvjeđi luk dobio je kao istinska proljetna poslastica medvjedima koji se bude iz zimskog sna.

Medvjeđi luk naraste u visinu 20 do 40 cm, a u zemlji ima uspravnu i tanku lukovicu bijele ili žućkaste boje.

Ako slučajno tijekom šetnje po šumi osjetite jak miris češnjaka, to može jedino biti medvjeđi luk.

Budući da raste početkom proljeća, medvjeđi je luk kao stvoren za proljetno čišćenje organizma.

Danas mu mnogi daju prednost nad češnjakom, jer raste samoniklo, nije onečišćen, a i ljekovitiji je od češnjaka.

Medvjeđi luk sadrži allicin, eterična ulja, alisulfide i polisaharide.

Mladi listovi sadrže 20 do 50 mg vitamina C i karoten.

Konzumiranje svježe biljke veže na sebe otrove i masnoće iz krvi, krvnih žila, crijeva i želuca te ih izbacuje iz tijela.

U obliku tinkture upija masti i pomaže čišćenju organizma od visoke količine LDL kolesterola.

Medvjeđi luk je podcijenjeno, ali djelotvorno sredstvo za snižavanje visokog krvnog tlaka.

Kura ovog luka odmara jetru od lijekova i na dva do tri mjeseca stabilizira krvni tlak.

Ljekoviti dijelovi biljke su mladi proljetni listovi koji se beru u travnju i svibnju te podzemne lukovice koje se skupljaju u ljetnim i jesenskim mjesecima.

Možete iskopati cijele biljčice i posaditi ih u svom vrtu, nakon čega ne zahtijevaju nikakvu brigu.

Medvjeđi luk idealan je za starije ljude, jer pospješuje rad crijeva, liječi akutne i kronične proljeve, lijenost crijeva i tvrdu stolicu.

Vino od divljega luka izuzetno je ljekovito sredstvo za starije osobe s trajnim katarom pluća i s povezanim tegobama disanja.

Čak i u teški oblici katara pluća nestaju, a s njim i teškoće pri disanju.

Preporučuje se i u slučajevima plućne tuberkuloze i vodene bolesti, od kojih često pate stariji ljudi. Blagotvorno djeluje i na mokraćni sustav.

Mrazovac raste tek u jesen po livadama, a đurđica ima slično stanište, ali i kožnatije listove.

Aronia melanocarpa
Aronia melanocarpa (black chokeberry) has attracted scientific interest due to its deep purple, almost black pigmentation that arises from dense contents of phenolic phytochemicals, especially anthocyanins. Total anthocyanin content in chokeberries is 1480 mg per 100 g of fresh berries, and proanthocyanidin concentration is 664 mg per 100 g (Wu et al. 2004, 2006). Both values are among the highest measured in plants to date.

The plant produces these pigments mainly in the skin of the berries to protect the pulp and seeds from constant exposure to ultraviolet radiation[1]. By absorbing UV rays in the blue-purple spectrum, pigments filter intense sunlight and thereby have a role assuring regeneration of the species. Brightly colorful pigmentation also attracts birds and animals to consume the fruit and disperse the seeds in their droppings.

Anthocyanins not only contribute toward chokeberry’s astringent property (that would deter pests and infections) but also give Aronia melanocarpa extraordinary antioxidant strength that combats oxidative stress in the fruit during photosynthesis.
