[What is Rhodiola Rosea]

Rhodiola Rosea (also known as Arctic root or golden root) is a member of the family Crassulaceae, a family of plants native to the arctic regions of Eastern Siberia. Rhodiola rosea is widely distributed  in Arctic and mountainous regions throughout Europe and Asia. It grows at altitudes of 11,000 to 18,000 feet above sea level.

There are numerous animal and test tube studies showing that rhodiola has both a stimulating and a sedating effect on the central nervous system; enhance physical endurance; improves thyroid, thymus, and adrenal function; protects the nervous system, heart and liver; and has antioxidant and anticancer properties.

My name is Zane from Atlantis Skincare. I’ve been studying cosmetic science and making cosmetic for 2 years now. In this video I would like to share some skills about the difference between how to make plant extract and making tinctures. Because you can find both of these in the cosmetics, especially natural one.
Natural plant extracts are made with glycerin water-mixes and honey water-mixes, with dried, or fresh herbs in the summer. And kept for 6 weeks until it’s ready to use.
However – tincture is made from alcohol and also with dried or fresh plants. Then plant tincture is kept in for at least 6 weeks to get all the plant benefits in alcohol.

I hope this video will help you to better understand your all natural skincare, and ingredients like extracts and tinctures, to make the best out of it for your skin.
