My mom lied to me about sneaking in more sugar! So if you’re expecting to see a video in which my mom tells the truth, please look elsewhere. This is pretty simple to make, though preparation takes some time. The ingredients:
-3 cups all purpose flour
-2 cups sugar
-3 teaspoons baking soda
-1 teaspoon baking powder
-1 teaspoon salt
-1 teaspoon cinnamon
-1 teaspoon nutmeg
-3/4 cup vegetable oil
-2 teaspoons vanilla
-1 cup diced cranberries
-1 1/2 cups sweet potatoes (3 sweet potatoes boiled & mashed)
-1 cup crushed walnuts
-3/4 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
-Gratings from 3 orange peels
-4 eggs

Boil three sweet potatoes and mash them up. Use a cheese grater to peel three oranges and squeeze the juice out of oranges to get 3/4 of a cup of orange juice. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Put all the liquid ingredients in a bowl and mix them with a spoon. Then just add all the non-liquid ingredients and stir them thoroughly with a spoon. Grease a baking pan or bread pan with butter or vegetable oil (my mom used vegetable oil) and bake for 60 to 70 minutes, or until you can stick a toothpick in it and pull it out without the batter sticking. Let it cool for a while and serve.
