Analgesic belongs to a group of drugs that helps relieve pain. This term is a greek word. Pain occurs when the special nerve ends send messages to the brain. The pain killer intercepts this pain providing some sort of relief.
Two naturally occuring drugs are Aspirin and Opiates. Aspirin extracted from a chemical in a willow bark and Opiates extracted from Poppies.
