Staph infections can be deadly, but a simple chestnut leaf may be able to help.
A new study from Emory University in Atlanta, GA, found that an extract from European chestnut tree leaves may effectively prevent Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureas) bacteria from creating toxins — without boosting its drug-resistance.
A form of S. aureas that is resistant to the antibiotic methicillin (methicillin-resistant S. aureas or MRSA) is one of the most dangerous drug-resistant organisms today.
