Welcome to another exciting Saturday Strategy!

For this Saturday Strategy, we are making a meal that you’ll love using raw foods. The raw food diet has been gaining popularity in media. The U.S. News and World Report rank raw food diet as the second most effective diet for losing weight.

Eating raw food has it’s nutritional perks. Not only will preparing raw foods cut back on your light bill, you will be able to absorb more of the nutrients in the foods that you’re eating. Most of what you will be eating will be rich in vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients because there’s no heating involved. Cooking foods above 115 to 118 degrees Fahrenheit destroys the enzymes that are essential for proper digestion and absorption.

Raw food contains less trans fat, saturated fat, and also promotes a low sodium and sugar intake which decreases cholesterol level and chances of heart disease. Raw diet food is also rich in antioxidants which help prevent premature aging. Antioxidants are substances that help prevent the damaging effects of oxidation on cells throughout our body.

Zucchini
Zucchini is slightly bitter in taste, but is rich in magnesium. The mineral magnesium and calcium works in unison to form healthy bones. Americans tend to have low levels of magnesium. Get some zucchini today!

Summer Squash
Summer squash is an excellent source of antioxidant with its high source of Beta-Carotene. It has other antioxidant nutrients including the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin which protect the eyes.

Macadenia Nuts
Macadamia nuts are 100% cholesterol free. Not only are these nuts very tasty, they are high in vitamins, minerals, and good monounsaturated fat, which can lower cholesterol.

Cashew Nuts
Cashews are packed with soluble fiber which can help lower bad cholesterol (LDL). Also, monounsaturated fatty acids like Oleic and Palmitoleic Acids may decrease the risk of heart disease.

Pine Nuts
Pine Nuts is an excellent source of energy, and contain heart-friendly mono-saturated fats. It also contains Pinoleic Acid that makes you feel full faster which aids in weight loss.

Garlic lowers blood sugar, has detoxification properties, and strengths the immune system. It is known to be anticancer, antibacterial and anti-fungal.

Lemon is a rich of Vitamin C that helps our immue system. It also stimulate your liver and helps flush out toxins, and have alkalizing properties that keep your pH balance.

There is no doubt that raw food diet is beneficial to good health and weight loss. Some people find it hard to transition from cooked to raw foods.
