In my third attempt at making medicated hard candy, having all the right tools & ingredients sometimes doesn’t help bad luck!
NOTE: In this recipe, I used 3.5G of strong medical grade kief & very fine ground bud, as well as trying out a new “All-Natural” Jello mix that said it was made with “real Strawberry Juice”. Not sure how they turned juice to powder, but when I used it in my recipe, it definitely converted back into straight JUICE, leaving a ton of liquid on top of the candy boiling in the pot. I was able to drain a lot of it off, but the high temps ended up burning it, which has made the candy taste like heavily medicated roadkill. If you use this recipe, DO NOT USE ‘All-Natural’ JELLO! ‘Sugar Free’ is also not usable here, just a regular 3oz box is what works!
I was able to turn about half the batch into successful, cute little bears using the new molds I got on Amazon. I am currently dusting them off after tossing them in powdered sugar, hoping that will help a little with the taste. I’m 98% sure they are still very effective, SUPER DANK edibles! I just haven’t tried a real dose yet, after being in the kitchen for 6 hours last night, I was too sick to eat anything.
