HAMS Homebrewers Association of Manatee Sarasota participated in a brew day with our lead brewer in celebration of National Homebrew Day on May 4th. A small 3 bbl batch of a Wheat Ale was brewed and the wort handed off to interested members of the HAMS. Members got to take home 5 gallon carboys to add their own finishing touches and to initiate fermentation.

The tasting of the split batch will be on July 9th in our beer garden. HAMS brewers and JDub’s brewers will be comparing each approach and notes taken from the experience. The public is allowed to interact with the HAMS group during this time to gain more information on home brewing and about joining the club.

Fermenting treatments include:
1. Grapefruit Zest and Peppercorn
2. Bourbon Barrel
3. Lemon, Lime, and Honey
4. Tangerine, Orange Peel, and Coriander
5. Papaya, and Pineapple
6. Passion Fruit, and Blueberry Extract
7. Lemon Quot
8. Dry hopped with Sterling Hops, and Raspberry Extract
9. Lemon Peel and Pair Dice Spice
10. Honey, Mango, and Ginger

JDub’s will be giving out tasting tickets in the taproom for these home brewed samples. ALL donations received from these tasting tickets will go straight to The Alzheimer’s Association!
