King of Bitters Plant – A powerful herbal plant for healing various diseases — Chirota/Kalmegh
The plant shown in this video is knows as the King of Bitters in English & in our local language it is called Chirota, Kalmegh, Maha-tita (চিৰতা, কালমেঘ, মহা-তিতা – চিৰতা আয়ুৰ্বেদ শাস্ত্ৰত কালমেঘ হিচাবেও জনা যায়| এই গুল্ম জাতীয় উদ্ভিদবিধ উত্তৰ-পূৱ ভাৰতত \’মহা-তিতা\’ অৰ্থাৎ তিতাৰ ৰজা বুলিও পৰিচিত| বিশেষকৈ পাত আৰু শিপা ঔষধ হিচাবে ব্যৱহাৰ কৰা হয়|) is famous for its herbal power to treat various kind of diseases & extremely bitter in taste. King of Bitters (Chirota) is widely cultivated in India and Sri Lanka. Even research has also found evidence of its effectiveness to treatment of upper respiratory infection, ulcerative colitis & rheumatic symptoms & even had significant drying effect on the nasal secretions of cold sufferers who took 1,200 milligrams of andrographis extract daily for five days. I am showing a simple method how to take out it’s juice & drink it by mixing in water. First of all plug out the leaves & break the branch into small pieces as shown in the video & dip it into a glass of water & leave it for the whole night. In the morning hours drink the water, which will be very bitter in taste but can help you get rid of many diseases even worms from your intestines. The whole plant including its leaves, branches & roots are used as medicines.
This plant is used in treating many ailments, such as fatty liver problems, including gastrointestinal complains, throat infections, to dispel toxins, for increasing biliary flow. Some therapeutic uses include: coughs, headaches, edema, earache, pain conditions, inflammation & muscular pain, arthritis, rheumatism, fibro myalgia, multiple sclerosis, depression, bronchitis, tuberculosis, chicken pox, mumps; sluggish liver, spleen, kidneys and adrenal glands; sleeplessness, vaginitis, constipation, etc. & has also been use as a replacement for quinine in treatment of malaria. However, pregnant women & people with high blood pressure are not advised to eat this plant.
