Recently got blood work done, had my ALT and AST a little too high. I don’t drink, smoke, do drugs, I exercise hard, eat right etc. I researched what could it be, and found that ALT and AST are from being an athlete. They are found in muscle cells and when under physical stress, released from the liver among other places, into the blood stream, resulting in higher numbers than the ‘norm.’
