I take quick showers every time I do this. The stuff is non toxic if it goes into the plant & dries. So I learned doing it in midday sun gives the plants a water break, & kills bugs faster. I can do other various things, that are all non-harming to do to just brush them off sort of. Not really watering them.
It does not kill any good bugs. They are not harmed, even bees, because they are not trying to take the vegetables for food. If bees become effected through the pollen part, I do not know. I do know that it would be touch & go.
We prefer it to be dry when we put down the instant grits, for ants to take back. It actually works on a large scale. On a full scale war like conversation, about ants. I am out set to kill them off.
I had 1 large bag of grits that took about a year. If it were enough time to cover everywhere, & it stayed dry enough, & baiting them worked, we could kill more. We work with what we have, & work outward, in every direction.
