Here is a healthy way to get milk into your diet. As many people dont know cow’s milk is extremely damaging to the body. Not only does it come packed with hormones it also depletes the calcium in your bones and destroys them over time. This recipe will help you transition to a healthier way to get your milk fix!
how to make almond milk
almond milk ingredients
2/3 cup almonds
2/3 cup coconut chips
4 cups filtered water
1 tsp vanilla powder
3 medjool dates pitted
1/4 tsp sea salt
1 tsp maca powder (optional)
1-2 teaspoons beet power or 1 small beet (optional)
directions how to make almond milk
1. Soak the almonds at least 8 hrs in a good cup water
2. Heat your oven 120°C/250°F and place your clean glass bottles for 20 min. until sterilized. Remove and cool down.
3. heat a nonstick pan on medium heat and bake the coconut chips until fragrant and slightly browned. (You can do it in the oven together with the bottles but keep an eye on it, they tend to burn very quick)
4. Rinse the almonds well and transfer into a bowl. Cover with hot but not boiling water
5. remove the skins by squeezing between your fingers
6. place almonds, cooled chips and and all the other ingredients in a high speed blender. You can start with 3 cups water for about 1- 2 min
7. add more water or keep it like it is and just add water when you’re using it and enjoy !
8. you will also want to strain the milk with a nut milk bag or a strainer
