Why I Love TVP (and you should, far too!)

TVP or TSP (textured vegetable protein or textured soy protein) is my new favored factor. This is a tiny video on what TVP is, why it is really terrific, wherever you can come across it, and how to use it.

And this is the recipe for those people bars I pointed out:

*Sweet & Chewy TVP Bars*
- three cups fortified unsweetened almond milk
- 6 tbsp maple syrup
- four tbsp ground flax
- twelve tsp Splenda (or other very low-calorie sweetener)*
- four tsp vanilla extract
- three cups dry TVP
- 2 cups chopped walnuts
- 2 cups dried cranberries
- 1.five cup rolled oats
- 1 cup full wheat flour

1. Warm the almond milk in the microwave for about 90 seconds.
2. Mix the milk, maple syrup, flax, splenda, and vanilla in a massive bowl.
three. Increase the TVP and mix till it has soaked up some of the liquid (about 1 moment).
four. Increase the remaining substances and mix till properly-integrated, introducing far more almond milk if it is far too dry to unfold on to a baking sheet.
five. Distribute evenly on to a greased nonstick lipped baking sheet. (parchment paper should operate as a substitute of oil if you favor).
