[What is Barley ?]

Barley is an annual grass. Barley grass is the leaf of the barley plant, as opposed to the grain. It is capable of growing in a wide range of climatic conditions. Barley grass has greater nutritional value if harvested at a young age.

[How does it work?]

The fiber in barley might lower cholesterol and blood pressure in people with high cholesterol. Barley may also reduce blood sugar and insulin levels. Barley seems to slow stomach emptying. This could help keep blood sugar stable and create a sensation of being full, which might help to control appetite.

There is more to this video than the title indicates. You might be surprised. For me the Helmsman urethane waterproofing did not protect my hive boxes from the weather. Some of the beehive boxes are in pretty bad shape. To solve that solution this year I have put two coats of fiberglass resin on the exterior of the boxes. I really feel this is the best chance I have of water and weatherproofing my beehives. Getting the right mixture of resin and hardener was a bit tricky. I share what I learned on that and how to weatherproof English garden beehives and any other type of beehive.

Die Ginseng Radix ist eine Pflanzendroge, die von der Wurzel des Ginseng 6-7 Jahre nach der Kultivierung der Pflanze durch das Herausreißen der Pflanze meist mitte September gewonnen wird. Der Ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A.Mey.) ist eine in koreanischen, chinesischen und sibirischen Berg- und Waldregionen vorkommende 30-60 cm hohe Pflanze. In diesen Regionen wird Ginseng seit Jahrtausenden als Heilpflanze eingesetzt. Je nach Aufarbeitung der Wurzel werden verschiedene Arten der Pflanzendroge erhalten.

Ginsenoside sind Saponine, welche aus der Ginsengwurzel gewonnen werden. Ginsenoside sind die Glycoside des Protopanaxadiols, des Protopanaxatriols und der Oleansäure, also Triterpen-Aglycone mit jeweils 30 C-Atomen. Diese sind mit einem bis zu mehreren Zuckerteilen glycosiliert. In der Ginsengwurzel konnten bisher bis zu 150 verschiedene Ginsenoside isoliert werden.
