[What is Huperzine A]

Huperzia is a type of moss that grows in China. It is related to club mosses (the Lycopodiaceae family) and is known to some botanists as Lycopodium serratum . The whole prepared moss was used traditionally. Modern herbal preparations use only the isolated alkaloid known as huperzine A. Huperzine A is an alkaloid found in huperzia that has been reported to prevent the breakdown of acetylcholine, an important substance needed by the nervous system to transmit information from cell to cell. Animal research has suggested that huperzine A’s ability to preserve acetylcholine may be greater than that of some prescription drugs. Loss of acetylcholine function is a primary feature of several disorders of brain function, including Alzheimer’s disease . Huperzine A may also have a protective effect on brain tissue, further increasing its theoretical potential for helping reduce symptoms of some brain disorders.

[Function] Used in alternative medicine, huperzine A has been found to act as a cholinesterase inhibitor, a type of medicine used to prevent the breakdown of acetylcholine (a chemical essential to learning and memory).

Not only used as a treatment for Alzheimer’s disease, huperzine A is also said to enhance learning and memory and to protect against age-related cognitive decline.

In addition, huperzine A is sometimes used to boost energy, increase alertness, and aid in the treatment of myasthenia gravis (an autoimmune disorder that affects the muscles).

What has proven to be one of the healthiest foods on the planet is the garlic. It should definitely be consumed every day, and possibly to be consumed raw, because that way it contains more nutrients.

And just imagine, the garlic can be used to treat several medical conditions too – such as to prevent or to treat baldness, liver diseases, relieve the symptoms from a cold or a flu.

Purify the blood and cleanse the arteries, it can be also found helpful with respiratory problems and so forth.

A fun fact about the garlic is that it was used by the Egyptians! Because of it’s powerful medicinal and antibiotic properties, the Egyptians chewed the raw garlic while they were building the pyramids! And the most powerful compound there is in the garlic is called allicin.

This compound works in an interesting way, if you crush the garlic it enhances it’s powers, but if you cook it it will vanish. So that is why garlic is best when eaten raw.

First crush it, and leave it like that for 15 minutes, until the power of the allicin spreads, and then eat it. If you want to disguise the strong odor, then just add some vegetable oil and parsly to it.

But, why it is known that we should keep garlic under our pillows? Some people keep garlic under their pillows, some in the pockets of their clothes, and others even rub their pots and pans with this vegetable.

It is believed that all of this is done to avoid or to eliminate the negative energy of the spirits that might be around us, and to bring good luck.

If you hesitate, maybe you should try it. Take a garlic clove, put it under your pillow. You will sleep better and the negative energy that has been circling around you will be gone.
