[What is Siberian Ginseng?]

Eleutherococcus, also known as eleuthero or Siberian ginseng, grows in mountain forests and is native to eastern Asia including China, Japan, and Russia. Caramel Apples:
1 pkg. of individually wrapped caramels
2-3 tbs. milk
4 apples
popsicle sticks
microwave caramels until smooth
combine milk with the melted caramel
make sure wax is off the apples and they are completely dry
place popsicle sticks in apples
roll apples in the caramel and let sit for 10-15 minutes in the fridge

Oven Roasted Pumpkin Seeds:
add hot water witht the seeds, mix about 1-2 tbsp. of salt with it
soak for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, strain and pat dry
melt 2 tbsp. butter
mix butter, maple sugar, cinnamon and sugar with pumpkin seeds
the secod batch mix butter and bbq seasoning also add sugar, chilli powder,
salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder
place seeds on lined pan
spread seeds so they are not grouped together
preheat oven to 400 degrees farenheit and cook for 10-15 minutes, deending on the oven

let cool and enjoy!

This video outlines briefly the extraction of capsaicinoids from peppers using soxhlet extraction.

10 Scotch Bonnet peppers were used, and subjective taste testing by a panel of 6 volunteers indicated that while the Scoville rating by dilution tasting was approximately 100, tasting of the concentrate indicated that the extract was much stronger.

Currently HPLC is used to evaluate the Scoville rating analytically, however this is impractical for the purposes of this video.
