[What is Tribulus terrestris?]

Tribulus terrestris is a vine that has been used as a general tonic (energy) and herbal treatment for impotence, but is found primarily in dietary supplements marketed for increasing testosterone levels in bodybuilders and power athletes. The idea behind tribulus is that it may increase testosterone levels indirectly by raising blood levels of another hormone, luteinizing hormone.

PROBLEM 1: I recorded this video on the same day (February 16, 2014) as my other video “Both are Junk! Vitamix 5200 vs 2200 Comparison – Cashew Nut Butter” https://youtube.com/watch?v=7Mj-RL0oasQ, but at that time I was not inspired to upload it because, the Vitamix 2200 model was not as good as I thought. The plastic lid from the 2200 model was degrading and falling into my food!!! I no longer use either of these blenders.
SOLUTION 1: I switched to a glass Waring blender container (used from eBay). It is a good regular blender, but it is not a powerful high-speed blender. It can mainly handle liquify recipes like fruit smoothies.

PROBLEM 2: When I found out that the Vitamix® container may NOT in fact be as claimed, “BPA-Free” (see my video – “Why I no longer use BPA-free Vitamix. Learn what BPA scientists say about scratched plastic. Short Version.” https://youtube.com/watch?v=tGjEIGI5MLs, I thought I was stuck with my “BPA-Free” blender!
SOLUTION 2: A few weeks ago I found out that there is a VERY EASY way to replace (some say ‘upgrade’) the Vitamix 5200 “BPA Free” plastic container with one of the Waring stainless steel containers! I tested for several weeks and decided to let everybody to know about it!
The Waring® Commercial STAINLESS STEEL container fits and WORKS PERFECTLY on modern Vitamix blender bases. Waring has many stainless steel containers but only one container fits the Vitamix base!

What to do with your plastic Vitamix container?
1) Sell on eBay – Include a full disclosure as to why you are selling. You will be surprised that some people still want to buy it.
2) Re-purpose – Use as a flower pot, water your plants since it has a nice handle and pour spout, and any other non-food use.
3) Recycle – Only an option if your recycle company accepts #7 plastic. Most curb recycle in the U.S. do not accept #7.
PLEASE do NOT throw ‘away’!
Most conventional plastics do not biodegrade and they take about 500-1,000 years to break down. The plastic breaks down into smaller and smaller particles that end up contaminating our soil and water.

SCIENTIFIC STUDY – INDEPENDENT:
The claim of “BPA Free” is according to the manufacturer NOT according to several INDEPENDENT (as in not paid or influenced by the manufacturer) scientists.

RECIPE:
Sesame Tahini Ginger Dressing (modified)
1/2 cup water
1-2 Tablespoons vinegar*
2 Tablespoons soy sauce*
1 pitted date
1 inch piece of ginger root
2 cloves garlic
1/2 cup hulled sesame seeds
Blend until smooth. Store in glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
*Since these can often come from GMO sources
