[What is Kava?]

Kava, also known as piper methysticum, kava kava, and ‘awa, is a small shrub native to the islands in the South Pacific. The root and stems are made into a non-alcoholic, psychoactive beverage that has been used socially and ceremonially for hundreds of years in Hawaii, Fiji, and Tonga.

Kava is traditionally prepared by placing ground root and stem into a porous sack, submerging in water, and squeezing the juice into a large, carved, wooden bowl. Coconut half-shell cups are dipped and filled — punch bowl style. After drinking a cup or two a feeling of heightened attention combined with relaxation begins to come on. Although it is soothing, it is unlike alcohol in that thoughts remain clear. The flavor is largely inoffensive, but some find that it takes getting used to; it really depends on your preference for earthy flavors.

[Kava is Safe to Use]

The safe and effective benefits of kava to relieve symptoms of anxiety were also supported in a meta-analysis, a systematic statistical review of seven human clinical trials published in 2000 in the Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology, and again in a similar critical review in 2001. The reviews did not find significant adverse effects related to liver toxicity.

In conclusion, the liver is affected by many substances, including prescription and non- prescription drugs, as well as alcohol, which is a major cause of liver damage. We must be aware that herbs are potent medicines, to be treated with the appropriate respect regarding potential interactions and toxicity, including to the liver. On the other hand, Kava kava’s margin of safety far surpasses that of it’s pharmaceutical equivalent.

The body requires special fats that, among other important functions. make it possible for sufficient oxygen to reach the cells via the cellular membranes. Which are the key, These special fats are highly oxygen-absorbing. Called Essential Fatty Acids, or EFAs, these special fats must be supplied from outside the body every day.

Contain antioxidant-like phytonutrients including ellagitannins and anthocyanins. These may help fight viruses, inflammation, and a number of other serious health conditions. Antioxidants seek out and eliminate cell-damaging substances, called free radicals. Free radicals can occur naturally in the body or from exposure to environmental toxins. Although ellagitannins exist in most berries, raspberries contain the the most potent levels.

    Grape seed :
Grape seeds have an abundant source of flavonoids called proanthocyanidins. This is important for brain health due to their free radical-quenching antioxidant and collagen-protecting effects. Proanthocyanidins have also been shown to noticeably delay the onset of lipid peroxidation and to effectively chelate iron ions. Free iron ions are some of the most powerful promoters of lipid peroxide, hydrogen peroxide and hydroxyl radical production. This is a major contributor to the pathogenesis of Parkinsons disease, one of the most common neurological diseases in older individuals.

    Ribose-D :
Ribose-D is a five-carbon sugar found in every cell in our bodies that combines with oxygen and ATP (adenosine triphoshate) to give energy to each cell. Ribose is also present in RNA (ribonucleic acid), which is one of the main information carriers of living organisms. Oxidative stress, as measured by free radical damage to cells, leads to systematic inflammation. Fortunately, our bodies handle this problem daily. However, if our bodies experience an abnormal increase in free radicals due to exercise, daily stress, excess smoking, excess saturated fat intake, depressed immune system, aging, etc., the body becomes fatigued and less efficient in producing Ribose-D to replenish cellular energy. Because of this, we need to supplement with Ribose-D in order to regenerate the cells energy system.
    Grape Extracts Resveratrol :
Grape skin extract contains trans-resveratrol which is considered a natural antibiotic that can fight bacterial diseases. Resveratrol may help protect the body from various diseases and slowing down the aging process.

What does black garlic taste like?
It is made by heating whole bulbs of garlic (Allium sativum) over the course of several weeks, a process that results in black cloves. The taste is sweet and syrupy with hints of balsamic vinegar or tamarind.

What are the health benefits of black garlic?
Garlic reduces inflammation, boosts immune function, is toxic to 14 types of cancer, and boosts cardiovascular health in multiple ways. One of garlic’s compounds is allicin, a sulfur-rich compound that is likely its most powerful weapon against bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites.

How long can pickled garlic be kept in fridge?
Stir salt into water until dissolved. Alternatively, you can heat the water for easier salt dissolution, but you’ll need to let it come back to room temperature before pouring it over your garlic. Put your peeled garlic cloves into a quart-sized jar, cover with your (room temperature brine).

How do you cook with black garlic?
The “warm” setting creates the right environment for transforming heads of garlic into black gold (assuming you have a few weeks to spare). Use the cloves as you would roasted garlic: Purée them with oil, then smear the paste on crostini, incorporate it into dressings, or rub it onto chicken or fish before roasting.

Can you still use garlic after it sprouts?
As garlic ages, it develops a spicier, sharper taste; it also starts to sprout. This is not spoilage—garlic isn’t spoiled until it turns soft, or develops dark spots on the cloves. Basically, using sprouted garlic or not comes down to taste and personal preference. Haters of sprouted garlic say it tastes bitter.

What is the allicin in garlic?
When fresh garlic is chopped or crushed, the enzyme alliinase converts alliin into allicin, which is responsible for the aroma of fresh garlic. The allicin generated is very unstable and quickly changes into a series of other sulfur-containing compounds such as diallyl disulfide.

    Why is the garlic purple?
This type of garlic has several even-sized cloves and thick covered by stiff and thick ‘neck’ with purple stripes. The purple coloration is a result of the large presence of organic pigment “anthocyanidin”. Softneck garlic also known as “white” garlic is the most common type of garlic available.

How do you make your own garlic powder?
First, peel the garlic cloves. Then cut them into thin slices and put in a dry pan. Place the pan in a 150-degree oven to dry the garlic, turning the slices often. Grind the dried slices in a blender, then sift the material through a strainer to separate the chunks from the finer powder.

Can you use the green part of garlic?
You don’t have to remove the green sprout in the center of the garlic clove, but you may want to. It is not poisonous or toxic, but that green sprout supposedly imparts a bitter flavor. It certainly indicates your garlic has been around a while, and the clove itself will most likely have a milder flavor.

    Where is allicin found?
Medicinal Activity in Garlic is best measured by it’s Allicin contentNonetheless, allicin is not found in fresh garlic. The chemistry of garlic is extremely complex. Fresh garlic contains an enzyme called “allinase” and “alliin”, which are contained in different parts of the garlic plant.

What does allicin do for you?
A powerful, natural medicine, garlic is used to treat illness such as infection, inflammation, and hypertension, and is often called the world’s greatest…
