(EN) Pieter Vanwildemeersch was Junior Assistant ‘tropical forestry’, for BTC in Rwanda (2009-2012). As bio-engineer specialised in forest management and tropical agriculture, he provided overall technical support and initiated a digital forest library in collaboration with the Rwandan ministry. Intrigued by the social aspect of forest management, he specialized afterwards in participatory management of natural resources. As country responsible for the Belgian NGO WeForest in Morocco, he developed and set up a participatory project on landscape restoration in Rhamna, continuing his work on SDG 15 (Life on land).
