[What is Siberian Ginseng?]

Eleutherococcus, also known as eleuthero or Siberian ginseng, grows in mountain forests and is native to eastern Asia including China, Japan, and Russia. Traditional Chinese Medicine has used eleutherococcus for reducing lethargy, fatigue, and low stamina as well as increasing endurance and resilience to environmental stresses. Eleutherococcus is considered an “adaptogen,” a term that describes herbs or other substances that, when ingested, appears to help an organism increase resistance to stress. There is strong evidenceEleutherococcus senticosus increases endurance and mental performance in patients with mild fatigue and weakness.

  • How to Make Hemp Milk and Hemp Pudding

Making hemp milk is fast and simple and way healthier for you than commercial brands because there is no added ingredients. All you need is:

    Ingredients Hemp Milk:

    - 1 cup of shelled or hulled hemp seeds (you might see them called hemp nuts or hemp hearts – all the same thing) Always look for organic and also non-irradiated or sterilized and I’ll have a link where to get those in the blog.

    - 3 cups pure water (I like this filter here – https://amzn.to/2jiNTQ8 )

    - Sweeten – options to sweeten are – 2 dates, 1-TB of maple syrup, honey or stevia

    - ¼ teaspoon of vanilla powder or extract – https://amzn.to/2jJgQkO
    - Pinch or pink salt – https://amzn.to/2jJ2zoq

The great thing about these nuts is that they don’t need to be soaked. Normally soaking and sprouting is done to remove the enzyme inhibitors such as phytic acid which is not present in hemp seeds so they are easily digested without soaking.

    Blend ingredients

Add the hemp seeds and pure water into a blender. I use 2 dates soaked overnight in pure water just to soften them up and to bring out the sweetness, just remember to take out the seed.

You don’t have to strain the hemp nuts when completed but if you do, add the honey or maple syrup after straining so it doesn’t get caught up in your bag.

Finally a pinch of pink salt (1/8 teaspoon) as a preservative and this adds minerals as well.

That’s all you need and it will taste great if you want it chocolate milk just add a teaspoon of raw cacao.

Blend this for about 2 minutes

    - You can also add a tablespoon of matcha tea or chai tea to the milk for a healthy pick-me-up.

    - I also add some raw cacao and chia seeds to it for an awesome breakfast pudding.

    Hemp Pudding Ingredients:

    - 1 cup hemp milk

    - 3 tablespoons chia seeds https://amzn.to/2io9x64

    - 1 teaspoon raw cacao https://amzn.to/2jJ6tgX

    - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanilla powder/ or honey/ or maple syrup/ or stevia

    Straining the Hemp Nuts

I don’t strain the hemp nuts, but if you do strain them, I recommend using these nut milk bags made with natural fibers like cotton and hemp rather than nylon which is bad for us and the environment

If you strain, you can save the strained seeds for smoothies, my homemade pancake recipe, home made ice cream, salads, as a body scrub, or just throw them in your garden as a compost since they are so nutrient dense. Just refrigerate them if you don’t use them right away.

Benefits of Hemp Seeds, nuts and Hemp oil:

    - Great source of omega-3 fatty acids, & has the antioxidant vitamin E to preserve the healthy fats

    - All 10 essential amino acids, which is very rare for a plant source,

    - Lots of vitamins and minerals

    - It’s good for bones, your immunity, hair, skin and nails, helps with fat loss, heart health, and mental clarity and is anti-inflammatory and improves circulation even hormone regulation and much more. These are really worth all the hype and I would include them in your routine.

    - They are also free of allergens so it’s great for everyone.

    - It also is not going to get you or your children high. It’s from a cannabis plant just like marijuana but that’s about all it has in common. This is taken from the seed not the flower.

    - Most hemp is non-gmo and naturally organic since it thrives without pesticides. It’s great for us and the environment.
Other milk alternatives I’ve made are almond milk and coconut milk, so check the videos on those, but this is the easiest and most nutritious.
