[What is Rhodiola Rosea]

Rhodiola Rosea (also known as Arctic root or golden root) is a member of the family Crassulaceae, a family of plants native to the arctic regions of Eastern Siberia. Rhodiola rosea is widely distributed  in Arctic and mountainous regions throughout Europe and Asia. It grows at altitudes of 11,000 to 18,000 feet above sea level.

There are numerous animal and test tube studies showing that rhodiola has both a stimulating and a sedating effect on the central nervous system; enhance physical endurance; improves thyroid, thymus, and adrenal function; protects the nervous system, heart and liver; and has antioxidant and anticancer properties.

Rất nhiều người tin rằng, nước rằng ép đã thay đổi cuộc sống của họ, khiến chúng trở nên tốt hơn, mọi người hưởng nhiều lợi ích hơn như da sáng, năng lượng dồi dào, vòng eo lý tưởng.

Tuy nhiên, trong thực tế, các chuyên gia dinh dưỡng và thực phẩm đang rất thận trọng về công dụng của nước ép. Thậm chí họ cho là có thể gây ra tác hại lâu dài.

Chứng đau nửa đầu liên quan tới việc dùng nước ép họ cam quýt. Một nghiên cứu năm 2004 cho thấy, khi nước cam ép lẫn với vỏ, nó sẽ sản sinh ra synephrine – chất gây co mạch, kích hoạt cơn đau nửa đầu.

Chỉ dùng nước ép từ trái cây có múi cũng gây ra tình trạng thiếu hụt magiê ở một số người. Và sự thiếu hụt này liên quan đến chứng đau nửa đầu. Những hậu quả khác có thể kèm theo là hội chứng mệt mỏi, khó chịu, và táo bón.

Do vậy, những người áp dụng chế độ ăn uống kiểu này trong hàng tuần, hàng tháng sẽ đặt mình vào nguy cơ mắc một số vấn đề sức khỏe nghiêm trọng.

Về ngắn hạn, phụ nữ áp dụng chế độ này có thể bị chóng mặt, mệt mỏi và nhức đầu. “Lâu dài, hậu quả về sức khỏe có thể khá nghiêm trọng, trong đó có các vấn đề về khả năng sinh sản, trao đổi chất và thậm chí tổn thương gan”. Sioned Quirke, một chuyên gia dinh dưỡng hàng đầu về béo phì và tiểu đường giải thích.

“Trái cây và rau quả chứa nhiều vitamin và khoáng chất cần thiết nhưng không có nhiều axit amin quan trọng, chất béo và protein. Phụ nữ muốn có con phải có sức khỏe tối ưu”, bà Quirke nói.

Chứng đau nửa đầu có liên quan đến sự thiếu hụt magiê. Magiê có nhiều trong động vật có vỏ, đậu và đậu nhưng lại ít trong hoa quả và rau tươi. Thiếu các loại vitamin khác cũng có thể gây ra đau đầu.

Ông cho rằng bao gồm phụ nữ mang thai, những người vừa trải qua quá trình lọc máu, hóa trị liệu cũng như những người bị thiếu cân hoặc có bệnh động kinh… không nên áp dụng.

Ông khuyến cáo những ai bị ngất xỉu, cảm thấy chóng mặt hoặc huyết áp giảm khi áp dụng chế độ ăn này cần dừng lại và liên hệ với bác sĩ ngay lập tức.
